There once was a ruthless businessman named Mr. Scrooge, who never let his employees have a raise or a day off – even at Christmas. He was known far and wide as a cranky old man.
“Bah humbug!” he would say to people who wished him a merry Christmas.
He often could be seen in his office, hunched over his desk, counting his money. When he wasn’t hunched over his desk, he was looking down at his cellphone to check on his investments. Mr. Scrooge got very little exercise and often carried his heavy ledgers in a backpack low on his back.
Scrooge was sitting in front of his fireplace on a recent Christmas Eve when the Ghost of Christmas Future appeared to him.
“Merry Christmas, Scrooge,” the ghost greeted him.
“Bah Humbug to you! Tell me what you want so you can get out of my home! I have money to count,” Scrooge replied.
“I want to know one thing, Scrooge. Why are you so cranky? You make everyone you meet miserable. And it’s Christmas! ‘Tis the season for joy and giving!”
Scrooge paused for a second. “Well, if you must know, my back hurts! Christmas is no fun when you have holiday back pain! I work all day and night and make my employees work so I can save money for back surgery and medications. It’s all very expensive, you know!”
“Ha ha ha ha!” the Ghost of Christmas Future laughed. “Let’s take a look at something that might help!”
In an instant, Scrooge and his companion were at Walker Chiropractic in Augusta. They watched as one person after another thanked Dr. Chris Walker for ending or reducing their back pain. Scrooge was surprised to see that it did not cost much.
“It’s less expensive than surgery or medications,” the ghost told him. “And chiropractic is all-natural. It lets your body heal itself.”
“Quick!” Scrooge replied. “Please take me home! I must make an appointment!”
Soon, Scrooge also was thanking Dr. Walker! He left the office feeling better than he had in years! Because he no longer suffered from chronic back pain, Mr. Scrooge’s attitude changed. He gave his employees time off – with pay! He helped the less fortunate because standing and moving didn’t hurt him like it used to.
Scrooge told others about the benefits of chiropractic treatment. If he saw someone in pain, he told them to contact Walker Chiropractic today!
