VETERANS COMMUNITY CARE PROGRAM
Dr. Chris Walker is a proud supporter of those who serve our country, which is why Walker Chiropractic is a community provider for the Veterans Community Care Program.
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) allows eligible veterans to get chiropractic care from community providers when they face challenges receiving that care at VA medical facilities. The VA ensures that these community providers, including Walker Chiropractic, are qualified and competent. If you are a veteran and want to receive chiropractic care from Walker Chiropractic, get an authorization from your VA provider. Just ask for a referral to our office when getting the authorization.
VA Health Benefits Eligibility Criteria
Community care is available to veterans based on certain conditions. A veteran might be referred to a community provider when the referring clinician and veteran agree that it is in the best medical interest of the veteran to see a community provider. Distance, drive time, and other criteria are irrelevant.
Other criteria for a veteran to be eligible to receive care from Walker Chiropractic include:
- The veteran needs a service that is not available at a VA medical facility.
- The veteran qualifies under the ‘grandfather’ provision related to distance eligibility for the Veterans Choice Program.
- VA cannot provide care within a designated access standard.
- Veteran lives in a U.S. state or territory that does not have a full-service VA medical facility.
- VA service line does not meet specific quality standards.
