It’s the time of year when we start making New Year’s resolutions. Many resolutions revolve around health and finances. After all, who doesn’t want to feel better, save money and maybe lose a few pounds in the process? If that sounds like your New Year’s resolutions, you should consider chiropractic treatment.
Let’s start with feeling better physically. Many people suffer from chronic pain – back pain, headaches, joint pain, neck pain, etc. One of the main goals of chiropractic is to reduce pain naturally. By aligning your spine and joints, chiropractors often reduce or eliminate back and neck pain, joint pain and headaches.
When you don’t hurt as much, you can – and want to – exercise more. Being pain-free goes a long way toward meeting your New Year’s resolution of starting a fitness routine. In addition, chiropractic treatment is a great preventative technique to help you avoid injury while exercising or playing sports.
How about that New Year’s resolution to lose weight? It’s simple: If you hurt less and exercise more, you are more likely to lose weight. Chiropractic also boosts your metabolism. When your nervous system isn’t functioning properly because of misalignments, it is more difficult for your brain to communicate with your body and vice versa. This can affect how well your body systems – including metabolism – function. Chiropractic care has been shown to improve metabolism, making it easier for you to burn fat and shed excess pounds.
If your resolutions include being more fiscally responsible and saving money, choose chiropractic! Going to the chiropractor doesn’t mean you’ll never need prescription medications, but many patients have been able to resolve issues through chiropractic treatments without the need for prescriptions. By keeping your body functioning at its best, chiropractic treatment often prevents people from needing expensive surgeries with lots of downtime, pain and lost wages.
Many New Year’s resolutions include improved mental health. People want to prevent or better control anxiety and depression. Chiropractic treatments promote sleep, relieve tension in your muscles and encourage your body to function better and relax by increasing your output of “happy hormones” such as cortisol and oxytocin.
Dr. Chris Walker would love to show you how chiropractic treatment can help you meet your New Year’s resolutions in 2022.
